Tiger Cross Country Teams Ranked Nationally, Regionally As Season Hits Full Swing
September 25, 2007 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
The Princeton women's cross country team has maintained its No. 1 regional ranking while the men are ranked No. 2 in the region in the latest USTFCCCA regional polls released Tuesday.
The Tiger men, who have not raced since their season-opening meet at Fordham Sept. 8, are ranked No. 27 in this week's national poll. The Princeton women, who won that meet and a tri-meet with Harvard and Yale Sept. 15, are ranked No. 13 nationally.
The Princeton men were No. 2 in the preseason rankings behind Georgetown and maintained that position behind the Hoyas in this week's regional poll. Villanova, Penn State and Navy round out the top five in the Mid-Atlantic rankings.
The Tiger women were ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll and remain in that spot ahead of Georgetown, Penn State, West Virginia and Villanova.
Both Princeton teams will compete at Lehigh's Paul Short Run Friday afternoon. The Tiger women won that event last year and also won the regional championship for the second straight year.
The Mid-Atlantic region features schools from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia.
