Maag Leads Princeton at Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (10/3/08) ? Senior Michael Maag led the Princeton University men's cross country team to an 11th-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3.
The Tigers, racing in the men's blue division, posted a team score of 296. Maag came in at 23:45 to take eighth place out of 202 runners that competed in the five-mile race.
Junior Ben Sitler covered the course in 24:27 for 36th place, followed a few seconds later by freshman Brian Leung at 24:33 for 45th place. Classmate Max Kaulbach had a time of 25:09, and senior Cameron Marantz cruised in at 25:14. Outside of the top five, senior Bryan Sharkey and freshmen Sean Wilson finished in under 26 minutes, and junior Ben White and sophomore Rob Speare came in in under 27 minutes.
No. 26-ranked Florida State finished in first place, followed by an unranked Tulsa and No. 28 Texas A&M in second and third place, respectively.
The top five finishers all finished within one second of the other. Lamar's Samuel Kosgei took the top individual honors with a time of 23:32. In second place was Shadrack Songok of Texas A&M, and Florida's Jeremy Criscione at 23:34 came in third.
