Three Tigers Representing U.S. at Junior Pan-Am Cup
October 07, 2008 | Field Hockey
Junior Kaitlyn Perrelle and freshmen Katie Reinprecht and Kathleen Sharkey of the Princeton field hockey team are currently in Mexico City playing for the United States at the 2008 Junior Pan American Women's Tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the Under-21 World Cup.
The team got off to a fast start yesterday with a 21-0 win over Bermuda as Round-Robin play began. All three Tigers were in the starting lineup and factored in the scoring. Perrelle led all scorers in the game with four goals for the U.S., while Reinprecht and Sharkey each added one.
Reinprecht and Sharkey currently rank first and third in scoring for Princeton with 23 and 16 points respectively. Primarily a defender at Princeton, Perrelle has three points this season for the Tigers.
The U.S. is back in action on Tuesday against Trinidad & Tobago and faces Chile on Thursday with the playoff round commencing on Friday. Check out TigerBlog throughout the week for updates on the team's progress from Mexico City.
