Indoor Track & Field Season Begins on Saturday at Jadwin Gym

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/4/08) ? This Saturday, Dec. 6 the Princeton men and women's indoor track and field season gets underway, as the Tigers host the New Year Invitational at Jadwin Gym.
Attending the invitational will be Monmouth, Rider, Rutgers, Penn, College of New Jersey, West Chester and the Shore Athletic Club.
The field events begin at 11 a.m., and the track events at 12 p.m.
At last year's meet, Shafiq Kashmiri won both the 60 meter and the 3000 meter dash for Princeton, with times of 6.95 and 34.41, respectively. The Tigers won all the jumping events, beginning with Justin Frick's win in the high jump at 7-00.25 Nathan Crumpton won the long jump, going 23-00.50 and Garner McCloud won the triple jump with a length of 47-09.75. Alex Pessala was tops in the 35 lb. weight throw with a toss of 59-06.75. All of the aforementioned athletes will be back this season, excluding Crumpton who graduated in the spring.
On the women's side, Agatha Offorjebe was first in the 300 meter dash with a time of 7.78. Liz Bergold clocked in at 2:59 flat in the 1000 meter for first place, while Lauren Barber finished the 60 meter hurdles in 8.89. The long jump was won by Marta Pardo with a height of 17-11.00, the triple jump was won by Bianca Williams by a length of 39-08.00 and Isabell Von Logo placed first in the shot put, throwing ??over 49-10. Bergold and Pardo are the only two not returning this season.
