Princeton Open Women Top Dartmouth, Penn For Class Of 1984 Trophy

The seventh-ranked Princeton open women bounced back from a tough weekend to win The Class of 1984 Trophy Saturday morning in Hanover, N.H. Head coach Lori Dauphiny's team won three of five races, including a better-than seven-second victory in the varsity eight showdown.
In the highlight event of the morning, the Princeton varsity eight won The Class of 1984 Trophy in a time of 5:27.9, which topped both Dartmouth (5:35.0) and Penn (5:38.5). The victory improved Princeton to 8-2 on the season, 6-1 against Ivy League rivals. The Tigers also claimed victories in the second varsity eight and the freshman eight competition.
The second varsity finished in 5:44.6, 1.2 seconds faster than Dartmouth, while the varsity four finished in 6:29.1, four seconds behind Penn. The Princeton freshmen posted the biggest win of the morning, topping Dartmouth by more than eight seconds with a winning time of 5:53.6. The Princeton second novice four placed second in a time of 6:53.8.
Princeton will conclude its regular season next weekend when it takes on George Washington at Lake Carnegie.
