Men's Cross Country Opens 2008 Season with Home Meet
September 11, 2008 | Men's Cross Country
PRINCETON, N.J. (9/11/08) ? The Princeton University men's cross country team will open the 2008 season on Saturday, Sept. 13, hosting the Old Nassau Run. The men will run both a 6k and an 8k, on West Windsor Fields, beginning at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., respectively.
The Old Nassau Run was last held in 2006, and featured just four teams. This year 179 runners from 11 teams will compete.
Three-time All-American David Nightingale and all-Ivy runner Frank Tinney may be gone from the roster, but the Tigers are bringing back a solid 17 runners from this 2007 roster. Included on that list is senior Michael Maag, the defending Ivy League champion. He and junior Ben Sitler both qualified individually for the NCAA Championship last year and will hit the trails again this year.
First-year head coach Steve Dolan has 10 new additions to the roster. They include senior Cameron Marantz, and freshmen Donn Cabral, Thomas Dialynas, Max Kaulbach, Brian Leung, Peter Maag, Justin Rau, Joe Stilin, Trevor Van Ackeren and Sean Wilson.
