Men's Cross Country Earns Regional Ranking

PRINCETON, N.J. (9/17/08) ? The Princeton University men's cross country team is ranked in the preseason U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
The Tigers were selected third in the Mid-Atlantic region and are receiving votes in the national poll. The USTFCCCA ranks the top 30 programs, with Princeton just missing out on No. 30 spot by one point.
Oregon is the unanimous No. 1 pick in the country, while Georgetown took the top spot in the regional rankings.
Last weekend, the Tigers hosted and won the Old Nassau Run. Senior Cameron Marantz won the 6k race, followed by classmate Michael Maag and freshman Brian Leung, in second and third place, respectively.
Princeton returns to the course on Friday, Oct. 3. The team will run at both the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., and the Notre Dame Invitational at South Bend, Ind.
