Women's Cross Country Competes in Annual H-Y-P on Sept. 27

PRINCETON, N.J. (9/25/08) ? The Princeton women's cross country team will compete in the annual “HYP” tri-meet with Harvard and Yale on Saturday, Sept. 27. The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m., at the Yale Golf Course.
Princeton is ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic regional poll, and No. 7 in the national poll. The Tigers hosted the Old Nassau Run on Sept. 13, and finished third in the event. Junior Liz Costello paced the squad with a time of 22:54.90.
Yale has participated in one event, the Fairfield Invitational, and took first place out of seven teams. Junior Stephanie Pearl claimed victory with a time of 18:49.54, followed closely by senior Bevin Peters at 18:52.25. Three other Bulldogs finished in the top-10.
This will be the first competition of the year for Harvard, who is ranked No. 6 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Northeast regional poll.
