Speare Represents Tigers at NCAA Cross Country Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/19/09) - The men's cross country team will send one runner to the NCAA Championship on Monday, while sending select members of its team to the IC4A Championship on Saturday.
Junior captain Rob Speare will represent the Tigers at the NCAA Championship on Monday, Nov. 23. The 10K race will be held on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind., beginning at 12:08 p.m.
Speare qualified for the national championship after placing 12th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional last week with a time of 32:11.5. This will be the first time that Speare will run in the championship. He is the 12th runner in program history to make the championship individually. This is the seventh straight year that Princeton has had an individual qualify to compete in the national championship.
Other members of the team will compete at the IC4A Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The 8,000-meter race begins at 10:15 a.m.
