Cross Country Sends Contingents to IC4A/ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y. (11/21/09) - The Princeton men and women's cross country teams both sent small contingents to the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Van Cortlandt Park.
The men's team was represented by eight runners which finished eighth out of 15 teams in the 8k race. Senior Elliot Welder and junior Dennis Walsh were the top two finishers for the Tigers finishing 36th and 38th respectively. Welder clocked in at 26:22.5, with Walsh following at 26:25.8. Freshmen Michael Franklin and Peter Callahan and sophomore Max Kaulbach ran across the time in succession, placing 44th, 46th and 49th to round out Princeton's top five scorers. Freshman Nathan Mathabane, sophomores Tyler King and Thomas Dialynas rounded out the eight Princeton runners.
Freshmen Abby Hewitt and Lauren Zumbach represented the orange and black on the women's side in the 5k. Hewitt clocked in at 18:54.2 for 70th place, with Zumbach finishing at 19:34.2 in 95th place.
On Monday, Nov. 23, the women's team and junior captain Rob Speare will run in the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
