Princeton Announces Upcoming Cross Country Schedules

PRINCETON, N.J. (6/25/09) ? Princeton head men's cross country coach Steve Dolan, and head women's cross country coach Peter Farrell have announced the schedules for the upcoming 2009 cross country season.
The season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 12. The men's team will host the Old Nassau Run at West Windsor Field, beginning at 10 a.m., while the women will participate in the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortlandt Park.
The Tigers will get a chance to feel out the course of the NCAA Regional when they head to the Cappy Anderson Invitational hosted by Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday, Sept. 19.
On Oct. 2, Princeton will have a choice of competing in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University or the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
The Princeton Invitational will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 beginning at 10 a.m. That same day is the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
Princeton will look for a four-peat at the Heptagonal Championship on Friday, Oct. 30 in the Bronx. Both teams have won three consecutive titles, and two-time individual champion Liz Costello returning for her senior season.
The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Maryland-Eastern Shore is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 beginning at 11 a.m.
The following Saturday, the IC4A and ECAC Championships will be held in Van Cortlandt Park.
On Monday, Nov. 23 the NCAA Championship will be held in Terre Haute beginning at 11 a.m. Selected members of the men's team have run in the national meet the last six years. The women's team will look to maintain a high standing, as it finished
fifth last year, the highest finish in program history. The team has
qualified for the championship each year since 2003.
