Cross Country Teams Atop the Preseason Regional Rankings

PRINCETON, N.J. (9/15/09) - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its preseason cross country rankings on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and both Princeton teams find themselves on the list.
The women's team is ranked No. 7 in the national poll, earning 283 votes. The Tigers sit No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic regional poll, behind West Virginia and Villanova who are ranked 4-5 in the national poll. Washington captured the top slot in the preseason poll.
The men's team is receiving three votes in the national poll and is ranked No. 4 in the Mid-Atlantic regional poll. Georgetown, Penn State and Villanova stand in the Tigers' way in the regional race, standing 1-2-3.
Both teams will compete at the Cappy Anderson Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Maryland-Eastern Shore.
