Cross Country Teams Face Regional Tests on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. (9/16/09) - The Princeton cross country teams will get a look at the NCAA Regional course this Saturday, Sept. 19 when they take part in the Cappy Anderson Invitational on the campus of Maryland Eastern Shore.
The men's race begins at 10:30 a.m., and is 8,000 meters. The women's race will follow at 11:30 a.m., and is 5,000 meters.
Teams participating in the invitational include: Bowie, Bucknell, Coppin, Delaware State, University of District of Columbia, Hampton, Howard, Loyola, Maryland Eastern Shore, UMBC, Morgan, Norfolk, Penn, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, St. Joseph and Villanova.
Both teams will also get an indication of where they stand regionally, facing off against Villanova. On the women's side, the Wildcats are ranked fifth nationally, two places ahead of seventh-place Princeton. The Villanova men are also nationally ranked earning just 19 more points than the Tigers.
Last week, the Tigers left the race open to its newest members of the team. The men's team entered five freshmen in the Fordham Fiasco, while the women's team sent four freshmen and one veteran.
