Kaulbach Leads Men's Cross Country to Paul Short Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (10/1/10) - Junior Max Kaulbach won the brown race of the Paul Short Run helping the Princeton men's cross country team to victory at Lehigh on Friday, Oct. 1.
The Tigers earned a low score of 36 with the first and second-place finishers while averaging a team time of 25:31. Colgate, which finished second, earned 169 points with an average time of 26:01, followed by UNH with 181 points with an average time of 26:13. A total of 40 teams competed in the race.Kaulbach crossed the line at 25:14, followed by teammate freshman Alejandro Arroyo Yamin at 25:21. Sophomore George Galasso took sixth place as the third Tiger across the line at 25:30. Sophomore Peter Callahan and freshman Garrett Rowe placed 13th and 14th with time of 25:45 and 25:46, respectively. Sophomore Thomas Dialynas, freshman Chris Bendtsen and sophomore Nathan Mathabane all finished in the top 40 out of 357 runners.
This is Princeton's best finish at the Paul Short Run. The Tigers finished third four times in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007.
Princeton's top group will use this win as motivation when it will run in the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 3.
