Men's XC Tabbed No. 12 in the Country

NEW ORLEANS (10/5/10) - The Princeton men's cross country team leaped to No. 12 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll it was announced by the organization on Oct. 5.
Princeton's No. 12 ranking is the highest ranking by an Ivy League school since Princeton was No. 14 on Nov. 18, 1997.
The Tigers placed third at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Oct. 2, beating out five other national teams and coming out ahead of three teams ranked higher than they were ranked. This pushed Princeton from No. 23 in the poll to No. 12.
Princeton moved up to first in the Mid-Atlantic region, from No. 2, sitting in front of No. 2 Georgetown, No. 3 Penn State and No. 4 Villanova.
The team will spend the next week preparing for Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Oct. 16.
