Four Tigers Selected to All-Ivy Women's Soccer Teams
November 11, 2010 | Women's Soccer
PRINCETON -- Four Princeton women's soccer players have been selected to the 2010 All-Ivy League teams, the league office announced Thursday, Nov. 11.
Sophomores Caitlin Blosser, Jen Hoy and Alison Nabatoff were all selected to the second team All-Ivy, and freshman Gabriella Guzman was an All-Ivy honorable mention.
Princeton (9-6-1, 4-2-1 Ivy) came within one goal of returning to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008, taking the league race to the last day of the season before a 0-0 draw with Penn on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium gave the Ivy League championship and NCAA automatic berth to the Quakers.
Blosser and Hoy comprised a major share of the team's offensive output in 2010, combining for 13 of the team's 20 goals. Blosser finished the regular season second in the Ivy League in points, with 19 on six goals and seven assists. The assist total was also good for second in the league. Hoy's team-best seven goals tied her for second in the Ivy in that category, while she led the league with four game-winning goals.
Nabatoff was the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year in 2009 and returned with another strong effort on defense, helping the team to six shutouts and a goals-against average of 1.09, third-best in the Ivy League.
Guzman, a midfielder, picked up her first career goal in the team's second game, against Seton Hall, and played in all 16 games while starting 13 to get the honorable mention bid.
Princeton received four All-Ivy selections in 2009 as well, with Blosser and Nabatoff, both honorable mentions a year ago, as honorees once again.
