Women's Squash Sweeps Columbia For Successful Season Opener

Four Princeton freshmen recorded successful collegiate debuts Friday night at the Jadwin Squash Courts to lead the Tiger women's squash team to a 9-0 victory over Columbia in the season opener for both teams and the program opener for Columbia.
Princeton won all 27 games played, including 12 from the freshman quartet of Libby Eyre, Lexi Saunders, Alex Sawin and Caroline Feeley. Eyre played at the highest spot in the lineup, defeating Monica Stone at the No. 3 position, while Saunders, Sawin and Feeley each played the five through seven positions for the Tigers, who will host Franklin & Marshall Saturday and Cornell on Sunday.
Sophomore Julie Cerullo, a reigning first-team All-America honoree, defeated Elizabeth Chu 9-2, 9-4, 9-2 at the No. 1 spot, while co-captain and multiple-time All-America honoree Jackie Moss won 9-5, 9-8, 9-1 at the No. 2 position.
The Tigers will be back on the court against F&M at 4 p.m. on Saturday; that match will follow the season debut of the Princeton men, who will take on F&M at 2 p.m.
