Women's Track Wins Two and Leads After Day 1 at Heps

Both teams have 31 points, with Harvard trailing by just one point. Cornell follows with 20, Columbia has 19, Dartmouth 12, Penn 10 and Yale 2.
Freshman Tory Worthen won her first Heps title in the pole vault at 3.90 meters (12-09.50).
Junior Thanithia Billings placed third in the shot put with a throw of 14.88 meters (48-10.00) to give the team six points. Despite not winning it was a new personal best for the junior by 0.13 meters.
Junior Reilly Kiernan won the 5000-meter run in a time of 16:27.64. Classmate Sarah Cummings was fourth at 16:48.57. Both times meet NCAA provisional qualifying times. In addition, senior Alexa Glencer clocked in at 16:57.94 for sixth place. In all Princeton earned 15 points in the event.
Princeton has seven qualifies in tomorrow's finals, four more than Brown. Cornell leads the way however with 15, followed by Columbia's 11. Harvard will have 6, Penn 5 and Yale 1.
Junior Ashley Higginson recorded the best time in the mile at 4:55.75. Sophomore Alex Banfich and freshman Melissa Newbery also qualified for the final of the mile.
Sophomore Eileen Moran qualified for the finals in both the 60 and the 200. She had the best time of any sprinter in the 60 at 7.57 and had the second-best time in the 200 preliminary at 24.60.
Freshmen Adidemi Adenikinju and Erin Guty will also run in the finals of the 60, making up three of the eight finalists.
Day 2 will begin tomorrow, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m., at Leverone Field House at Dartmouth.
