Zwirner Named Southern Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON (3/16/10) -- Brittany Zwirner of the Princeton women's water polo team tallied eight goals at the San Diego State Aztec Invitational to lead the Tigers to a 2-2 record, increasing her season goal total to 22 and earning the Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.

The award marks her second Rookie of the Week nod of the season as she previously garnered the Southern Division accolade on February 22.

Against CSU Bakersfield, she scored once as the Tigers fell 12-11 in overtime. She then added consecutive hat tricks in a loss to third-ranked Cal and a win over UC San Diego (6-4 W) before wrapping up the invite with a goal in a 9-4 victory over Wagner to help Princeton raise its record to 9-5 on the season.

Princeton plays at Concordia on Wednesday.
