Baseball Team Drops Opener at #24 UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (3/16/10) - The Princeton baseball team fell 25-1 on Tuesday afternoon at 24h-ranked North Carolina. The Tar Heels scored eight runs in their first at bat and never looked back in the win.
UNC jumped on Princeton in its first at bat, plating eight runs in the opening inning and extending its lead to nine runs before scored its lone run in the fourth inning. UNC would add two more big innings in the win, scoring six runs in the fourth and seven in the eighth innings.
Princeton had three hits in the loss. Sam Mulroy tripled and scored the lone Tiger run in the fourth inning. Also John Mishu singled and drove in Mulroy with a groundout. Noel Gonzales-Luna had Princeton's third hit.
Zak Hermans made his first college start and suffered the loss. A total of six Tiger pitchers appeared in the loss.
Princeton continues its series at UNC Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
