Baseball Falls 12-5 at #24 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (3/17/10) - The Princeton baseball team fell 12-5 on Wednesday night in the second game of its series at 24th-ranked North Carolina.
Princeton fell behind when the Tar Heels plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Princeton would add a single run in the second inning to get within two runs but the Tar Heels added three-more three run innings for the win.
Sam Mulroy and Nate Baird each had two hits in the game, while John Mishu homered and drove in two runs in the loss.
Princeton plated its first run in the second inning when Alex Flink hit a sac fly to plate Jon Broscious. The Tigers added three more runs in the fourth inning. Mishu homered after a Broscious single and then Tom Boggiano doubled home Flink. The Tigers final run came in the fifth inning when Andrew Whitener drew a lead-off walk and scored on a Brian Berkowitz single.
Kevin Link suffered the loss allowing four earned runs in three and a third innings. Mishu and Matt Grabowski each pitched shutout innings.
Princeton fell to 1-8 with the loss. The Tigers continue their Spring Break trip on Thursday afternoon at North Carolina A&T.
