Ruggiero Sets Meet Record at Monmouth Invite

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (3/27/10) - Junior Emma Ruggiero set a meet record in the hammer throw on Friday, March 26 on day one of the Monmouth Invitational at E. Murray Todd Track at Kessler Field.
She threw to 54.95 meters (180-03) over three meters better than the previous record set by Monmouth's Lacy Johnson in 2000, when she reached 51.76 meters.
Junior Thanithia Billings was fourth in the event, throwing to 51.01 meters (167-04).
Princeton hosts the Sam Howell Invitational next weekend, April 2-3.
