Men's 4x400 Cruises to Victory at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA (4/23/10) - The Princeton men's track & field team won the 4x400 Heptagonal at the Penn Relays on Friday, April 23 on the second day of collegiate competiton at Franklin Field. The Tigers cruised in at 3:11.30 to win the six-team event.
The team was composed of senior Brian Li-A-Ping, freshman Russell Dinkins, sophomore Austin Hollimon and junior Mike Eddy. Both Hollimon and Eddy recorded 46.07 splits. It was the 4x400's best time of the season, as they beat out second-place Penn by two seconds.
Senior Joel Karacozoff recorded a personal best in the college discus, launching to 50.64 meters (166-1). His beat his previous best by over five inches. Junior George Abyad also competed in the discus, and Karacozoff competed in the Eastern shot put with Patrick Park.
Sophomore David Slovenski took sixth in the Eastern pole vault, clearing 4.70 meters (15-5). Teammate Derek Hynes reached 4.80 meters (15-9) in the college pole vault. Also on the field, junior Ian Fox cleared 1.96 (6-5) in the Eastern high jump.The distance medley relay competed for the first time this season and ran a 9:43.40 in the Championship of America event.
Also competing on Friday was Tom Zozokos in the 400-meter hurdles, Dion Lehman in the long jump.
