PHILADELPHIA (4/22/10) - Sophomore Donn Cabral of the Princeton men's track & field tea won the men's 3000 steeplechase championship on Thursday, April 22 to open up day one of the Penn Relays.
Cabral clocked in at 8:48.92 to win the event, shaving more than eight seconds off his time from earlier this season. He was 7.32 seconds ahead of the second-place runner, Cornell's Adrien Dannemiller. Senior Elliot Welder was sixth with a time of 9:05.76.
Sophomore Tyler King also competed in the steeplecase in the Olympic Development level and clocked in at 9:20.24.
In the championship 5000, freshman George Galasso ran a 14:47.43, while sophomore Joe Stilin had a time of 14:49.22 in the the college 5000.
In the final event of the night, the men's 10000, senior Ted Price had a time of 30:52.81, followed by sophomore Peter Maag at 31:07.34.
Senior Tom Zozokos will get things started on Friday with the 400 Hurdles at 9 a.m.
