PHILADELPHIA (4/24/10) - The Princeton men's track & field team wrapped up a three-day trip to the Penn Relays and competed in The College of New Jersey Invitational on Saturday, April 24.
At Franklin Field, the Tigers competed in two relays and three field events.
Junior Justin Frick tied for fifth in the championship high jump clearing 2.08 meters (6-9.75) in just his second jump of the outdoor season.
Freshman Conor McCullough took second place in the championship hammer throw reaching 65.57 meters (215-1). Teammate Craig Pearce was ninth with a throw of 57.71 (189-4). In the college hammer, senior Joel Karacozoff threw to 52.16 (171-1).
In the relays, Princeton finished fifth in the Championship of American 4xMile with a time of 16:21.41. Making up the team was Kyle Soloff (4:05), Trevor Van Ackeren (4:01.2), Nathan Mathabane (4:12.4) and Mark Amirault (4:02.8).
Jeff Carbonella, Russell Dinkins, James Webb and Michael Palmisano made up the 4x800 that finished in sixth place with a time of 7:32.70.
At TCNJ Invite, Princeton competed in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles.
Adam Thayer finished seventh at 15.43 in the 110-meter hurdles and Richard Sheldon clocked in at 15.57.
In the 400-meter hurdles Nilan Schnure posted a tie of 56.26.
Princeton has one last tune up before hosting the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, when it hosts the Elite Meet on Saturday, May 1.
