Twenty-One Named All-Ivy League in Track & Field

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/10/10) - Twenty-one members of the Princeton track & field teams were named All-Ivy League, earning 26 all-league honors it was announced by the league office on Monday, May 10.
The men's team finished second at the 2010 Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, while the women took fourth.
Three members of the women's team were named first-team All-Ivy led by double winner junior Ashley Higginson who earned the honors in the 3000-meter run and the steeplechase. Junior Sarah Cummings was named first-team in the 10,000 and Tory Worthen captured the honors in the pole vault.
Seven others were named second-team All-Ivy. They include: sophomore Alex Banfich (5000), freshman Mel Newbery (steeplechase), junior Emma Ruggiero (hammer throw), freshmen Greta Feldman, Alexis Mikaelian and juniors Libby Bliss and Brooke Russell as members of the 4x800 relay team.
The men's team had six student-athletes earn first-team honors with sophomore Donn Cabral earning double honors in the 10,000-meter run and the steeplechase. Other recipients include: junior Mike Eddy (400), junior Mark Amirault (5000), senior Justin Frick (high jump), senior Eric Plummer (shot put) and freshman Conor McCullough (hammer throw).
Amirault, Eddy and McCullough also earned second-team honors in the 1500-meter run, 4x400 and discus respectively. Other second-team honorees include: senior Ian Fox (high jump), senior Craig Pearce (hammer throw) and freshman Russell Dinkins, sophomore Ricky Kearney and senior Brian Li-A-Ping as members of the 4x400 relay.
