Women's XC Ranked No. 9 in the Nation

NEW ORLEANS (9/14/10) - The first regular season national cross country poll was release by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and the Princeton women's cross country team is ranked No. 9 in the national poll and is third in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Tigers slipped two spots in the national poll from No. 7 in the preseason after finishing second at the Spiked Shoe Invitational to Georgetown. Taking over that No. 7 slot are the regional foes the Hoyas, who moved up from No. 11. Villanova is the unanimous No. 1 nationally where it was predicted in the preseason.
Princeton will take the next couple of weeks to train for the HYP Meet at Yale on Wednesday, Sept. 29.The Princeton men's cross country team is ranked No. 24 in the first national poll of the season. The Tigers were receiving votes in the preseason poll, but a victory at the Spiked Shoe Invitational on Sept. 11, elevated the squad into the top 25 as the only team that moved into the top 30 poll.
Princeton is ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic region. Villanova sits in first place and is ranked No. 14 in the nation, while Georgetown is third in the region and right on the Tigers' heels nationally at No. 25. Princeton and Villanova bumped Georgetown from its preseason No. 1 pick.
Princeton will be training the next three weeks until the Paul Short Invite and the Wisconsin Adidas Invite the first weekend in October.
