Volleyball Opens With Sweep Of Lafayette
September 04, 2010 | Women's Volleyball
One year ago, the Princeton women's volleyball team suffered one frustrating loss after another during a pre-conference season that left the Tigers winless. Head coach Jolie Ward felt the team was further ahead in 2010, and the earliest result backs that up; Princeton topped Lafayette 3-0 to open its season.
Sophomore Lydia Rudnick, in her first year as the top outside for Princeton, was impressive in her season debut. She recorded 13 kills and only one error for a .571 attack percentage and added 11 digs in the victory. Freshman Chelsea Parker, making her collegiate debut, added 12 kills for Princeton, which hit at least .385 each set and opened the match with a .531 performance.
Junior Cathryn Quinn recorded 10 kills and six digs, while sophomore Jennifer Palmquist added eight kills and zero blocks. Senior co-captain Liz McStravick recorded a .444 attack percentage and added two blocks, while fellow co-captain C.C. Lobben led Princeton with 15 digs.
