Women's Track Resumes Indoor Season Hosting Quad Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. (1/6/10) - The Princeton women's track and field team resumes its indoor season on Friday, Jan. 7 when it hosts a Quad Meet with Rutgers, St. Joseph's and St. John's at Jadwin Gym.
The Tigers haven't hosted an early season Quad Meet in quite some time but did finish first in Tri Meet with Rutgers and St. John's in 2005 and in 2004.Princeton won nine of the 13 events it entered at the New Year's Invitational in December. Senior thrower Thanithia Billings got the year started right by setting the school record in the weight throw, a mark of over 63 feet. She also won the shot put. Another double winner was junior sprinter Eileen Moran who captured wins in the both the 60- and 300-meter dashes. Freshman Imani Oliver won the triple jump her first time out. Sophomore Tory Worthen continued her reign in the pole vault, winning with a mark of 3.90 meters and classmate Greta Feldman won the mile at 5:08.90, 10 seconds faster than the runner-up. Rookie Kristin Smoot bested 27 other runners in the 600 with a time of 1:35.08 and classmate Molly Higgins won the 1,000 as Princeton went 1-2-3-4 with a time of 3:01.01.
