The Princeton women's cross country team will compete in two meets this weekend. The Tigers will send a select group to the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday, Oct. 14. The 6k race will begin at 1 p.m., on Zimmer Course. The rest of the team will run in the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15 at West Windsor Fields. The women's 6k starts at 10:30 a.m.
Nineteen ranked teams, and 41 total teams, will compete in the Wisconsin Invitational including: WVillanova 1, Providence 2, Stanford 6, New Mexico 7, Syracuse 8, Iowa State 9, Cal 10, Oregon 12, UNC 13, Arizona 14, Michigan State 15, Minnesota 21, Florida 22, Iowa 23, Washington 24, Notre Dame 25, BYU 27, Princeton 28 and Clemson 30.
Princeton is ranked 28th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll this week. The Tigers are fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region.Last year at the Princeton Invitational, the Tigers took fourth. Senior Brooke Russell paced the Tigers with a 10th place finish covering the course in 22:47. Freshman Katie Skinner was right behind at 22:53.40 to finished 15th overall. Sophomores Greta Feldman and Lauren Zumbach finished back-to-back at 28 and 29 with times of 23:08.90 and 23:11.60. Freshman Clare Gallagher was the final Princeton scorer. Gallagher crossed the line at 23:17.40 to place 33rd. Iona won the race with a score of 58 followed by Columbia in second place with 80 points.
