In the team's final non-league game of the season, Princeton women's soccer will host first-time opponent Utah Valley Tuesday at 7 p.n. on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
The match will conclude a five-game, 11-day stretch for the Tigers that of late has been a very successful one. Over the past week, Princeton outscored three opponents 11-1 and picked up its first Ivy League victory of the season.
Ten Tigers, including five freshmen, have scored a goal this season, and junior Jen Hoy leads the team with five goals this fall. Two of those came in Princeton's 4-1 win over Columbia Saturday. Princeton has used four goalkeepers on the campaign with juniors Kristin Watson and Claire Pinciaro combining for greater than 86 percent of the minutes in goal.
Before Princeton returns to Ivy League play Saturday at first-place Harvard, the Tigers will play their first-ever Great West Conference opponent in Utah Valley, which shares its nationwide league with Delaware State, Houston Baptist, Howard, NJIT, North Dakota and South Carolina State. The Wolverines are 5-0-1 in their last six games and will meet Princeton to start a three-game trip that includes games at Delaware State and NJIT.
Wolverines sophomore Natalie Young leads the team with seven of the team's 30 goals on the season while classmate Lauren Sack is the team's primary goalkeeper and has a 1.56 GAA.
The Utah Valley game will also be Princeton's second-to-last home game of the season before the Tigers host Cornell on Oct. 29.
