November 18, 2011 | Field Hockey
PRINCETON (11/17/11) - The Princeton field hockey team placed six players on the 2011 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region team as announced on Thursday. Princeton had three players selected to both the first and second team for the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Amanda Bird, Allison Evans and Charlotte Krause all earned first-team honors and are therefore eligible for the All-America teams that will be announced next week. All three were first-time first-team All-Ivy selections and Evans was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.
Alyssa Pyros, a first-team All-Ivy player, earned her third-straight second-team all-region honor, and was joined on the second team by teammates Erin Jennings and Sydney Kirby. Both were second-team All-Ivy selections.
Of the six, only Pyros had previously been named all-region. Last season the Tigers placed seven on regional teams.
