Banfich 5th at NCAA Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (11/21/11) - Senior Alex Banfich turned in an explosive finish to her Princeton women's cross country career finishing fifth at the 2011 NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.
Banfich covered the 6k course in 19:45 flat to finish in fifth place out of 254 runners. Her fifth-place finish is the highest finish by an individual in program history. Cack Ferrell was 10th in 2005.
Banfich earns All-America honors for the fourth time in her career. She finished 20th last year at 20:36 to earn her first All-America honor in cross country. Her time of 19:45 is 51 seconds faster than her time on the same course one year ago.
Junior Alexis Mikaelian also ran in the championship race, clocking in at 22:16.0.
