Track & Field Hosts Final Indoor Meet of the Season

PRINCETON, N.J. (2/16/11) - The Princeton track & field teams host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 16. It's the Tigers last home meet of the indoor season and the last meet before Ivy League Heptagonals.
The meet begins at 11 a.m. A schedule of events can be found below.
Competing teams include: City College of New York, Delaware, University of the District of Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, Georgian Court, Holy Family, Kutztown, Shippensburg, Towson and York (NY).
The men's team won six events. Eric Plummer '10 won both the weight throw and the shot put. Austin Hollimon wont he triple jump at 14.07 meters and Ian Fox '10 cleared 2.10 to win the high jump. In the 200, Sebastian Steffen ran a winning time of 22.79 and Tony Salvatore finished the 1,000 in 2:29.00 to win the event.

For the third straight week, the Princeton men's track & field team is ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic region. Penn State remains first. Villanova is third, followed by Navy and Monmouth.
Princeton has five marks that are top-40 in the NCAA. Austin Hollimon ranks ninth in the 400, running 46.47. The 4x400 relay of Tom Hopkins, Russell Dinkins, Mike Eddy and Hollimon is now 11th after running an Ivy League record 3:09.35. Sophomore Peter Callahan is 15th in the 800 with a time of 1:48.66 and Dinkins is 24th at 1:49.39, with both times occurring at the HYP Meet. Freshman Damon McLean is 27th in the NCAA in the triple jump with a mark 15.56 meters.Tigers who have the top 5 marks in the region are held by:
