Nine From Men's Water Polo Team Earn Academic Honor from CWPA

PRINCETON (3/16/11) - Nine members of the Princeton men's water polo team were among the 110 men's varsity student-athletes recognized on the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association Scholar-Athlete Team. The program honors student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2010 men's season.

The group was comprised of one senior, three juniors and five freshmen. All four upperclassmen are repeat members of the squad. Senior Peter Schulam was recognized for the fourth time in his career and the three juniors-Chris Cottrell, Mike Helou and Nick Pugliese-are all three-time members. Additionally, Princeton's team GPA of 3.16 ranked sixth among CWPA teams.

Student-athletes named to the team are put into categories based on their GPAs. The designations are Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40).
