Baseball Falls at Georgetown on Saturday

BETHESDA, Md. (3/19/11) - Georgetown scored 10 runs over the first two innings to build an early lead in a 15-2 win over the Princeton baseball team on Saturday afternoon at Shirley Povich Field. Matt Bowman and Tom Boggiano drove in runs for the Tigers in the loss.
Georgetown got to Princeton starter Michael Fagan with five runs in the first inning and five runs in the second inning. It was 11-0 before Princeton plated its first run in the top of the fifth inning as Matt Connor doubled and came around to score on Bowman's single.
Georgetown added another four runs in the seventh inning to build a 15-1 lead. The Tigers chipped in a second run in the top of the ninth inning when Boggiano tripled home Connor, who had reached on a fielder's choice. John Mishu and Sam Mulroy each had two hits in the loss.
Alex Meyer got the win for Georgetown after allowing one run in six innings. Fagan took the loss and was responsible for 10 runs in one innings. Tim Feess allowed a run in three innings of relief, while Chad Ohlendorf had two scoreless innings of relief. A.J. Goetz and Ryan Makis also provided scoreless relief innings.
Princeton completes its three-game series at Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at 12 noon. Mike Ford will get the start for Princeton.
