Baseball Team Swept in Doubleheader at Navy

Game 1 (Box Score)
Navy scored two runs in the first and third innings to build a lead that Princeton couldn't overcome in a 7-2 win. Sam Long went the distance for Navy and held Princeton to two runs on four hits in seven innings while striking out nine Princeton batters.
Matt Bowman took the loss for Princeton allowing seven run, only two of which were earned, on nine hits in five innings. Princeton had four hits in the loss as Sam Mulroy drove in a run with a triple and Nate Baird, Bowman and Alex Flink added singles. Jonathan York also drove in a run with a sac fly in the loss.

Navy used a six-run bottom of the eighth inning to rally from a five-run deficit to edge the Tigers 8-7 in the nightcap. After Navy scored once in the first, Princeton built a lead of 4-1 with four runs in the third inning. After Navy scored in the fourth, Princeton added three runs in the fifth inning to lead 7-2.
The Tigers scored seven runs on eight hits in the game and it started with the four-run third inning. A single and two walks loaded the bases with an out and Steve Harrington brought home the first run when he walked. A wild pitch, couple with a throwing error, brought in another two Tiger runs and Bobby Geren's single drove in the fourth Princeton run.
In the fifth, Alec Keller hit a bases loaded single to plate a run and Nate Baird's sac fly brought in a second run. A final run scored when John Mishu was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Princeton held the lead into the eighth inning when Navy scored six runs to come from behind and take the lead. Navy had three hits, four walks and took advantage of one Princeton error to come from behind in the win.
Zak Hermans allowed one earned run on six hits in seven innings with eight strikeouts. Matt Welsh, Matt Garbowski and David Palms all pitched in the eighth with Grabowski taking the loss.
