Arroyo Yamin Wins 5k at George Mason Invite

FAIRFAX, Va. (4/9/11) - Twelve members of the Princeton men's track & field team competed at the George Mason Invitational in Fairfax, Va., on Saturday, April 9.
Freshman Alejandro Arroyo Yamin won the 5000, beating out 20 other competitors. Arroyo Yamin covered the track in 14:11.17, crushing his previous best that he posted just two weeks ago at the Stanford Invitational when he ran 14:25.04. Senior Kyle Soloff was third at 14:16.71, followed by junior Joe Stilin in fifth place with a PR of 14:22.34 , nearly 13 seconds faster than his previous best. Junior Max Kaulbach was sixth at 14:23.98.
The 1,500 and 800 were both run in sections.
Junior Donn Cabral finished third in section one and was third out of the total 48 harriers with a time of 3:46.14. Classmate Trevor Van Ackeren was directly behind him at 3:46.32. Freshman Chris Bendtsen was third in section 2, and 12th overall clocking in at 3:50.85. Sophomore Michael Palmisano was section in section 3 with a time of 3:55.66.
Sophomore Russell Dinkins ran a 1:50.95 in the 800, taking fifth in section 1 finishing 10th out of 36 total runners. Senior Jordan Sawadogo ran 1:54.48 to place sixth in section 3.
