January 24, 2012 | Field Hockey
Princeton University field hockey will hold their Elite and Tiger overnight camps for athletes aged 12-18 on Princeton's campus from July 15-18. Head coach Kristen Holmes-Winn and assistant coaches Melisa Meccage and Nate Franks will direct the camp alongside a staff comprised of current and former international players and Division 1 coaches. Current Princeton Field Hockey players will also be on hand as counselors to supervise the dorms and give the campers insight into the life of a Division 1 student-athlete.
"Camp is one of the highlights of the year," said Holmes-Winn. "It is exciting to have so many first rate coaches visiting from all over the country. When we combine their talent, expertise and passion for the game with athletes who are eager to expand their range of skills, we have the foundation for an incredible experience for all involved. We are looking forward to another great year!"
In addition to the overnight camp, Princeton will also host several day camps later in the summer. Aspire Camp, a small, intensive day camp, will be run in two sessions, July 30-August 1 (afternoons) and August 1-3 (mornings). Aspire is aimed at campers who want to take their game to the next level, whether that be high school varsity, college or US Field Hockey High Performance programs. Utilizing in-depth skills and tactical presentations, video sessions and intensive on-field instruction, Aspire Camp offers players an inside look at what's required to reach your highest potential. The final camp of the summer, the Preseason Camp, will run August 6-August 8 (full day) and is designed to prepare players and teams for their upcoming fall seasons.
ALL CAMPS WILL INCLUDE GOALKEEPER-SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION.
