TROY, N.Y. (10/2/12) - Princeton men's track & field alum David Slovenski '12 has been named an assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Slovenski was a three-times Heps champion in the pole vault and two time-runner up. He competed in the NCAAs in 2011 and 2012. As a freshman he was named the Heps Indoor Athlete of the Meet. Slovenski earned second-team All-America honors in the event during the 2011 outdoor season as he finished 12th in the nation. He holds the Ivy League and Princeton records in the event at 5.37 (17-7). Team captain his senior year, Slovenski helped the Tigers win five Heps championships including back-to-back triple crowns in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Slovenski graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in May of 2012.
