Cross Country Teams & Banfich Earn Academic Honors

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
The men's team finished third at Mid-Atlantic regional and claimed 19th at the NCAA Championships. The women's team placed fifth at the regionals.
In addition, senior Alex Banfich earned individual All-Academic honors. This is her third All-Academic honor from the USTFCCCA for the sport of cross country. After finishing fourth at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, Banfich ran a blistering 19:45 to finish fifth at the NCAA Championship. The time is the highest finish by a Tiger in NCAA history, as she earned her second cross country All-America honor.
To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and earn All-America status or finish in the 15 at the regional meet.
