McLean and DMR Qualify for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS (3/5/13) - The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced Monday the participants in the 2013 NCAA DI Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Junior Damon McLean will compete in the triple jump, while junior Michael Williams, senior Austin Hollimon, senior Russell Dinkins and senior Peter Callahan will compete in the distance medley relay.
The championships will be held March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of University of Arkansas.
The DMR will be the final event on Friday, March 8, starting at 10 p.m. ET. The triple jump is slated for 7 p.m., ET on Saturday March 9.
The DMR has the second-best time in the nation. They ran 9:27.74 at the Alex Wilson Invitational last weekend to qualify. The Tigers are one of 12 relays that will be competing for the national championship.
McLean makes his second straight national championship appearance and first in the indoor, after finishing eighth at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championship. He qualified with a jump of 15.93 from the Alex Wilson Invitational.
ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 8 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. ET and March 9 from 7-9:30 p.m. ET. A tape delay of the championship will air Sunday, March 17 from 7-9 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
