Ten Princeton Men's Tennis Facts

• Princeton's final ITA ranking in 2012-13, No. 51, was its highest since 1995, when the team finished ranked No. 38.

• Matija Pecotic '13 was both the program's first ITA All-America since Ted Farnsworth '84 and achieved the team's highest final ITA singles ranking, No. 19, since Farnsworth.

• Princeton achieved the league's first three-time Ivy League Player of the Year in men's tennis when Matija Pecotic '13 was awarded the honor for the third straight year in 2013.

• Princeton has placed a player in the NCAA singles tournament 16 times since 1978. Matija Pecotic '13 became the first Tiger to win an NCAA singles tournament match since Reed Cordish '96 in 1996.

• Princeton has gained eight NCAA doubles tournament berths, most recently in 2001 when Kyle Kliegerman '01 and John Portlock '01 participated.

• Princeton's all-time winningest coach is David Benjamin, who is now the Executive Director of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Benjamin's teams won 339 dual matches from 1975-2000.

• Princeton has had an outstanding record in men's tennis, with the program holding an all-time winning percentage of .728 since its founding in 1901.

• Princeton's outdoor home facility, the Lenz Tennis Center, consists of 20 courts. Among these are the eight varsity courts that the newly built Cordish Tennis Pavilion, opened in 2011, overlooks.

• In addition to the Lenz Tennis Center, Princeton has an indoor facility in Jadwin Gymnasium, which has six courts.

• Since the Ivy League succeeded the EITA in men's tennis beginning with the 1999 season, Princeton has had 10 winning Ivy League campaigns, including a 5-2 record in 2013.
