Curham Starts XC Career with a Victory; Team Wins

NEWARK, Del. (9/14/13) - Princeton freshman Megan Curham got her cross country career started off on the right foot, winning the Delaware Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The 6k race held at White Clay Creek State Park was the first meet of the 2013 season for the Tigers.
Curham was the only runner to finish in under 22 minutes as she crossed the line at 21:39.39. Seniors Clare Gallagher and Molly Higgins followed in third and fourth places at 22:11.10 and 22:11.88, respectively. A Princeton pack followed taking places 6-9 with sophomore Kathryn Fluehr and freshman Lizzie Bird capturing the final two scoring slots. After taking a one-year hiatus, Fluehr ran a 22:20.39 while Bird clocked a 22:28.89. Freshmen Jessica Ackerman and Rachael Chacko followed at 22:29.36 and 22:31.44.
Princeton finished in first place with Delaware second, Towson third and Seton Hall fourth.
The Tigers return to competition on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
