Women's XC Runs at Pre-Nats and Hosts Home Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/15/14) -The Princeton women's cross country team returns to action this weekend at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, the final meet before the Heptagonal Championships. The 6k race will be held in Terre Haute on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m., in the Blue Race.
The rest of the team will stay home and host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18. For more information on the Invitational click on the link at the top of the article.
Last year the team finished 10th out of 49 teams and returned to the course for the NCAA Championships in late November placing 30th nationally. Sophomore Megan Curham led the Tigers with a 15th-place finish and she will make the return to the LaVern Gibson course. Joining her will be senior Lindsay Eysenbach, senior Erika Fluehr, junior Kathryn Fluehr, sophomore Alexandra Markovich, freshman Natalie Rathjen and junior Maria Seykora.
Six nationally ranked teams will compete at the meet including: No. 1 Michigan, No. 3 Oregon, No. 4 Georgetown, No. 7 Colorado, No. 22 Baylor and No. 29 NC State. Princeton will also see regional competitors Penn State, La Salle and Pittsburgh. The Tigers are ranked No. 5 in the Mid-Atlantic Region just one place back from the Nittany Lions, who are receiving votes in the national poll.

At the 2013 Princeton Invitational, the team entered 10 harriers in the championship race and finished seventh as a group. Seven others ran in the open race and as a team finished in second place.
