Welcoming the 'Pack: Princeton and North Carolina State will meet for the first time in what is Princeton's latest non-league game (outside of the NCAA tournament) since a Nov. 9, 2002 game against Colorado College on what was then Lourie-Love Field.
Ivy Title Scenarios: Thanks to a win at Cornell and Dartmouth's win over Harvard, Princeton remains alive for a share of the Ivy League title, but three things have to happen in order for Princeton to gain a share:
• Princeton must defeat Penn to finish with 13 points.
• Columbia must defeat Harvard for Harvard to finish with 13 points.
• Cornell must defeat or tie Dartmouth for Dartmouth to finish with 12 or 13 points.
Even if Princeton were to gain a share of the Ivy title, whether in a three-way tie with Dartmouth and Harvard or a two-way tie with Harvard, the Tigers couldn't get the Ivy's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament because of an 0-1-1 record against Harvard and Dartmouth or an 0-1 record against Harvard. Dartmouth would beat out Harvard and Princeton for the auto bid in a three-way tie because of an 1-0-1 record against the group. Dartmouth wins a two-way tie with Harvard because of the Big Green's 2-0 win over the Crimson last weekend. The Columbia-Harvard game will start at 1:30 Saturday with the Dartmouth-Cornell game set for 2:30 and Penn-Princeton set for 3 p.m.
Against the ACC: Counting games against teams in the ACC at the time of the game, Princeton last defeated an Atlantic Coast Conference team in 1989 with a 5-0 win over Maryland. The ACC has taken the last eight against Princeton after a 1993 tie against Maryland, including two games against Maryland, two against Virginia, one against Clemson, two against Wake Forest and one against Miami (Fla.). The ACC began sponsoring women's soccer in 1987, and though the Tigers have three wins over Boston College and two over Syracuse, they were before the Eagles and the Orange joined the ACC in 2005 and 2013, respectively.
202 and Counting: Princeton head coach Julie Shackford recorded her 200th win at Princeton with the Oct. 11 5-0 win over Brown, and she added 201 at Army on Oct. 14 and 202 on Nov. 1 at Cornell. She's the second women's coach in Ivy League history to win 200 games at a league school, following Brown's Phil Pincince. Five years and a day earlier, Shackford picked up her 200th overall career win, including 42 from her four years at Carnegie Mellon, against Brown.
More Shackford: Shackford announced at the start of the season that her 20th season at Princeton would be her last. Shackford's legacy includes six Ivy League championships and an Ivy-record eight NCAA tournament appearances, highlighted by the team's run to the 2004 NCAA College Cup semifinals.
In the Family: Princeton head coach Julie Shackford's sister Colette played at N.C. State and appears on several program statistical leader lists. She is third in career points at 106, tied for third in career goals with 42, seventh in career assists at 22, fifth in career shots at 230, third in single-season points with 47 in 1991, tied for fourth in single-season goals with 19 in 1991 and sixth in the category with 16 in 1992, tied for seventh in single-season assists with nine in 1991, and tied for second with 93 shots in 1991. Colette Cunningham was a first-team All-ACC honoree in 1991 and an All-ACC Tournament team member that year as well.
In the Ivy Rankings: Princeton leads the Ivy League heading into the Tuesday's game in shots overall and per game (211, 15.07), points overall and per game (90, 6.43), goals overall and per game (28, 2.00), and assists overall and per game (34, 2.43).
More Ivy Rankings: Individually, Tyler Lussi enters Tuesday's game No. 1 in the league in shots overall and per game (68, 4.86), points overall and per game (33, 2.36), and goals overall and per game (16, 1.14). Lauren Lazo is No. 1 in assists overall and per game (8, 0.62). Together Lussi and Lazo rank first and second in the league in goals and points, both overall and per game. Princeton also has the top three in assists per game, with Lauren Lazo and Vanessa Gregoire first and second and Beth Stella in a tie for third.
NCAA Rankings: Through games of Oct. 30, Princeton's best national statistical ranking was in assists per game, standing 11th at 2.38. Tyler Lussi appeared on five statistical lists with a high of No. 2 in the nation at 1.154 goals per game, and Lauren Lazo was on four lists with a high of 21st at 0.58 assists per game. Beth Stella entered the national top 100 with a 99th-best 0.38 assists per game.
Lussi Making History: Sophomore Tyler Lussi has outpaced any player in program history in scoring goals over her freshman and sophomore years. Her 16 goals on the season give her 26 for her career, surpassing Linda DeBoer '86, who had 24 goals through first two years.
More Lussi: With her 26 career goals, Lussi is already in a tie for sixth place on Princeton's all-time career list. She's one goal behind teammate Lauren Lazo, who has 27. Beyond 27 goals, Jen Hoy '13 is in fourth place at 36, while Emily Behncke '06 is third at 39, Linda DeBoer '86 second at 41, and current assistant coach Esmeralda Negron '05 is the record holder at 47.
Single-season record?: Only Esmeralda Negron '05 (20, 2004) and Jen Hoy '13 (18, 2012) have scored more goals in a single season than the 16 Tyler Lussi has scored this fall.
Lazo: Princeton senior Lauren Lazo, who is aiming to become the first Tiger since Diana Matheson '08 to earn All-Ivy League honors in all four years, is climbing up the Princeton career goal, assist and point charts. A look at where Lazo, and Tyler Lussi, stand heading into the North Carolina State game:

Rookies: Princeton has seven freshmen this year and all have had a start this season. Alessia Azermadhi is among the three Tigers who have started all 14 of the team's games, and Vanessa Gregoire, Natalie Larkin and Katie Pratt-Thompson have each started every game in which she has played. Five of the six field players in the class have scored points, led by Beth Stella's seven points on a goal and five assists.
Common Foes: Princeton and N.C. State have one common opponent this season, head coach Julie Shackford's alma mater, William & Mary. The Tribe defeated both teams, N.C. State 2-1 on Sept. 7 and Princeton 4-1 on Sept. 21.
On the Wolfpack: Though the Wolfpack have a record of 2-14-2, the team's schedule has been challenging and nine of the team's 16 decisions have come by one goal. N.C. State has faced six NSCAA top-25 teams this season including in each the team's last two games, losing 4-0 to No. 2 Florida State on Oct. 26 and 2-0 to No. 21 Clemson last Saturday. Princeton will be the season finale for the Wolfpack, who will be seeking to end a 10-game skid and a 13-game winless skein since a 3-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Sept. 4. Six players have scored a goal this season, led by freshman and Long Island native Kayla Saager, who has had five goals. Redshirt sophomore Mackenize Stelljes and sophomore Karly Gustafson have combined to play all of the team's 1,666 minutes in goal, Stelljes accruing a 2.04 GAA in 1,278 minutes and Gustafson a 2.55 GAA in 388 minutes.
N.C. State's Local Tie: The Wolfpack have one player from the Princeton area, with junior midfielder Jenna Kalwa having played at Hopewell Valley High School and then at Penn State before transferring to N.C. State. Kalwa is one of three N.C. State players to have started all 18 of the team's games this season.
Between the Posts: Senior Darcy Hargadon picked up the win Saturday at Cornell and has started 12 of the team's 14 games. She has accrued a 1.36 GAA while playing 994 of the team's 1,320 minutes.
Up Next: Princeton will close the slate and the careers of the team's nine-member senior class with Saturday's 3 p.m. game against Penn, and the Tigers will enter the day needing a win and the right results around the league to clinch a share of the Ivy title.
