Women's Squash Moves To 2-0 With 8-1 Victory Over Wesleyan
November 24, 2014 | Women's Squash
Princeton swept each of the first two shifts, including a pair of dominant showings by both Rachel Leizman (No. 6) and Alex Toth (No. 9); Leizman dropped only six points in her win, while Toth dropped only five.
The second shift was just as strong, including a 3-0 win for reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Maria Elena Ubina at the No. 2 spot. Both Lindsey Scott (No. 5) and Tara Harrington (No. 8) also both won while dropping no more than six points.
Alex Lunt and Hallie Dewey finished the team win with victories in their matches, but the highlight showdown between two of the nation's top freshmen went to the visitor. Wesleyan freshman Laila Samy defeated Princeton's Olivia Fiechter in three tight games.
Princeton will be off this week, but will return to the Jadwin Courts Dec. 3 against Drexel.
