Princeton's Ivy title fate depends in part on other results Saturday and Tuesday night's game wouldn't affect it either way, but the Tigers came out firing like a league title was on the line in a 5-3 win over North Carolina State. Each team traded two goals after the break. Lussi put Princeton up 4-1 when she recovered a ball played into the box by Natalie Larkin and put it on net. Jessica Baity had back-to-back goals for the Wolfpack, first in the run of play in the 59th minute and again in the 65th minute when she took a penalty kick after Princeton was whistled for a foul in the box. That made it 4-3, but Princeton kept N.C. State off the board for the last 25 minutes and got an insurance goal with Loncar's second off a cross from Larkin. |

| • The game was the final non-conference contest for 20-season head coach Julie Shackford at Princeton. N.C. State presented Shackford with a #20 jersey in recognition prior to the game. • Lauren Lazo now co-holds the Princeton career record for assists with Diana Matheson '08 at 26. • Nicole Loncar's two goals were the first two of the sophomore's career and her first points of the season. She had one assist in her freshman campaign a year ago. • Freshman Natalie Larkin had three assists on the night in her first three-assist game as a Tiger. She now has six assists this season. She's the first Tiger to have three assists in a game since Caitlin Blosser '13 in 2010. • Tyler Lussi needs two goals Saturday to tie and three to pass Esmeralda Negron '05 for Princeton's single-season goal record. She's now tied with Jen Hoy '13 for the second-most in a season in program history. • Tyler Lussi moved past teammate Lauren Lazo (27) and now has 28 goals on her career. That's good for fifth in program history, with Jen Hoy '13 in fourth with 36 goals. • Lauren Lazo's two assists give her 80 points for her career, breaking a tie for fifth with Diana Matheson '08 on the Princeton career list. Jen Hoy '13 is in fourth on that list with 83 points. • Princeton will be alive for a share of the Ivy title Saturday against Penn, but will need a win plus a Columbia win over Harvard and a Cornell win or tie against Dartmouth to gain a share. |
