Princeton's Ratcliffe Top Hammer Thrower in Country

PRINCETON — New Zealand has long been known for its rugby, cricket and soccer. Now, it is known as having the best collegiate hammer thrower in the United States.
Julia Ratcliffe, a sophomore at Princeton University, is currently ranked No. 1 as she prepares to compete in the East Regionals at Jacksonville, Fla., today.
If she qualifies for nationals, she will compete in Oregon on June 11-14.
She arrived in the states with a bit of an advantage, as Rhode Island is the only state that offers the event on the scholastic level.
