Princeton Women's Track & Field Set to Host 2015 Tiger Open

PRINCETON, N.J. – After a two-week layoff, the Princeton University women's track & field team returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 for its annual Tiger Open.
Princeton will welcome student-athletes from 20 Division I, II and III programs to Jadwin Gymnasium for the meet, with participants from: Bowie State, Bryn Mawr, Delaware, Georgian Court, Haverford, La Salle, Maryland, Millersville, Monmouth, Moravian, Penn, Rider, Rowan, St. Peter's, Swarthmore, TCNJ, Temple, Wesley, West Chester, and Williams.
The women's field events will begin at 10 a.m. with the long jump. The running events will begin at 11:45 a.m. with the women's DMR before ultimately concluding with the 4x400m relay.
In their last outing on Jan. 9, the Tigers won eight of 17 events to best St. John's and Saint Joseph's in a tri-meet at Jadwin Gym. Julia Ratcliffe stood at top the podium in the weight throw with a toss of 19.36m (63-06.25). Teammate Kennedy O'Dell finished first in the shot put with a mark of 13.10m (42-11.75).
Dominating the mile run, Princeton posted the top four times. Megan Curham led the pack, clocking in at 4:52.43, while Kathryn Fluehr placed second (4:53.00). Kim Mackay won the 800m with a time of 2:12.15, while Zoe Sims (2:53.81) and Cecilia Barowski (2:54.06) were 1-2 in the 1000m run.
In last year's Tiger Open, Princeton laid claim to first-place in six events. Ratcliffe won the weight throw at 19.28 (63-3.25). One of four Tigers in the top five, Taylor Morgan captured the high jump at 1.65m (5-5), while the Orange and Black swept the top three spots in the 500m. Fluehr helped Princeton's DMR team to a top showing with a time of 11:54.69.
